Unit 2 of Outlook moves into school life, giving Common Core students the vocabulary and grammar to talk about their own learning. Below are all 9 free, ready-to-teach lesson plans covering the full unit — the longest unit in the book, ending with its own review checkpoint.
All nine are free to download, aligned with the Common Core Standards-Based Approach.

Lesson 1: Conversation — Expressing Interest and Preference
Students learn to talk about what they like and prefer, in the context of school subjects.
Lesson 2: Grammar — Present Simple (Affirmative, Negative, Interrogative)

Lesson 3: Grammar Extension — Prepositions of Time (in, at, on, from, to)

A genuine review checkpoint, not just a quiz
Unlike most units, Unit 2 ends with a full consolidation lesson — a natural point to check the whole class is actually ready before moving on to Unit 3.
How to Use These in Class
Treat pronunciation as its own priority
Lesson 5’s /θ/ and /ð/ sounds don’t exist in Arabic or French, making them genuinely hard for Moroccan students — worth revisiting briefly in later units rather than treating this one lesson as sufficient on its own.
Use the checkpoint honestly
Since this unit is unusually long, the Lesson 9 checkpoint is a genuine opportunity to identify which students need extra support before Unit 3 builds on this foundation — worth protecting its full time rather than rushing through it.
Prepositions of time need real timetables
When teaching Lesson 3’s prepositions, use students’ actual class timetable as the practice material — “Math is at 9 o’clock, on Monday” — rather than invented examples.
