Phrases for asking someone how they feel, and for expressing your own feelings. This is your reference before the exam.

HOW ARE YOU FEELING? كيف تشعر؟
A simple, common way to ask about someone’s emotional state.
"How are you feeling after the exam?"
IS EVERYTHING OKAY? هل كل شيء بخير؟
A caring way to ask if something is wrong.
"You look upset — is everything okay?"
WHAT'S WRONG? ما الخطب؟
A direct, caring way to ask about a problem.
"You seem quiet today, what's wrong?"
HOW DID THAT MAKE YOU FEEL? كيف جعلك ذلك تشعر؟
Used to ask about someone’s reaction to something.
"How did that news make you feel?"
YOU SEEM A BIT DOWN, IS ANYTHING WRONG? تبدو حزينا قليلا، هل هناك خطب؟
A gentle, observant way to check in on someone.
"You seem a bit down, is anything wrong?"

I'M THRILLED ABOUT... أنا متحمس جدا بشأن
A strong, excited way to express happiness.
"I'm thrilled about the new documentary coming out."
I FEEL RELIEVED THAT... أشعر بالارتياح لأن
Used when a worry or stress has ended.
"I feel relieved that the exam is finally over."
I'M SO PROUD OF... أنا فخور جدا بـ
Used to express pride about someone or something.
"I'm so proud of my sister for winning the competition."
I'M OVER THE MOON! أنا في قمة السعادة
An idiom for extreme happiness.
"I'm over the moon about getting into that school!"
I FEEL REALLY GRATEFUL FOR... أشعر بالامتنان الشديد لـ
Used to express thankfulness.
"I feel really grateful for my friends' support."

I'M FEELING A BIT DOWN. أشعر بحزن قليل
A gentle way to say you feel sad.
"I'm feeling a bit down today, I'm not sure why."
I'M REALLY WORRIED ABOUT... أنا قلق جدا بشأن
Used to express anxiety about something.
"I'm really worried about my exam results."
I FEEL FRUSTRATED WHEN... أشعر بالإحباط عندما
Used to express annoyance at a repeated situation.
"I feel frustrated when my internet doesn't work."
I'M FED UP WITH... سئمت من
A strong, informal way to say you’re tired of something.
"I'm fed up with all the fake news online."
THAT REALLY UPSET ME. ذلك أزعجني حقا
Used to describe how something made you feel sad or hurt.
"That comment really upset me."
I FEEL OVERWHELMED BY... أشعر بالإرهاق بسبب
Used when something feels like too much to handle.
"I feel overwhelmed by all the homework this week."

A quick tip


“I feel…” + adjective is the most flexible pattern for emotions — you can use it with almost any feeling. Adding “because” or “when” after your feeling makes your English sound much more natural.

“I feel frustrated when the wifi doesn’t work.” sounds more complete than just “I feel frustrated.”

“I feel relieved that…” naturally answers how you feel now that stress has ended.
