In the last lesson, you talked about likes and plans. Now let’s learn two useful grammar tools: words that say how often you do something, and question words that ask for more information.

Adverbs of Frequency
These words tell us how often something happens, from 100% of the time to 0%:
From Most to Least
always → usually → often → sometimes → never
Example
I always watch films on Friday.
I never watch horror films.
I always watch films on Friday.
I never watch horror films.
هذه الكلمات تخبرنا عن تكرار حدوث شيء ما، من 100% إلى 0%: always (دائما) → usually (عادة) → often (غالبا) → sometimes (أحيانا) → never (أبدا).

Where Does the Adverb Go?
Adverbs of frequency usually go before the main verb, but after the verb “to be”:
Before the Verb
I always watch films.
After 'To Be'
I am always happy.
ظروف التكرار توضع عادة قبل الفعل الرئيسي، لكن بعد فعل “to be”: “I always watch films” (قبل watch)، لكن “I am always happy” (بعد am).

Wh- Questions
These question words help us ask for exactly the information we want:

“What” asks about a thing, “Where” asks about a place, “When” asks about time, “Why” asks for a reason, “Who” asks about a person, and “How” asks about the way something happens.

Putting Them Together
Now let’s combine Wh- questions with adverbs of frequency:
Example
What do you usually watch? I usually watch cartoons.
How often do you go to the cinema? I sometimes go.
What do you usually watch? I usually watch cartoons.
How often do you go to the cinema? I sometimes go.
الآن يمكننا الجمع بين أسئلة Wh وظروف التكرار: “What do you usually watch?” (ماذا تشاهد عادة؟) و”How often do you go to the cinema?” (كم مرة تذهب إلى السينما؟).
