Learn to write a warm personal letter to a friend about your own culture —…
You can already say hello and tell someone your name. Now let’s learn more words to talk about yourself — where you are from, your age, and more!
Personal Information Words
Here are important words we use to talk about ourselves:
My name is Hamza.
My age is 15.
My phone number is 06-12-34-56-78.
Countries
Now let’s learn the names of some countries in English:
Notice that “the United States” uses the word “the” before it! Most country names don’t need “the,” but a few do.
لاحظ أن “the United States” تحتاج كلمة “the” قبلها.
Nationalities
A nationality tells us which country a person is from. Look at the pattern:
Putting It All Together
Now we can use all these words in one sentence:
My name is Hamza. I am 15 years old. I am from Morocco. I am Moroccan.
Try saying a sentence like this about yourself!
My name is Hamza. I am from Morocco. I am Moroccan.”
