Today, we learn a fun grammar trick: adding a small question at the end of a sentence to check information. These are called question tags!

The Basic Rule
Question tags follow one simple rule: positive sentence gets a negative tag, and negative sentence gets a positive tag.
Positive Sentence
You recycle your bottles
Negative Tag
don’t you?
The Reverse
You don’t litter, do you? (negative sentence → positive tag)
سؤال التذييل يتبع قاعدة بسيطة: الجملة المثبتة تأخذ تذييلا منفيا، والجملة المنفية تأخذ تذييلا مثبتا.

With 'To Be'
With the verb “to be,” we repeat the same form in the tag:
Example
It’s hot today, isn’t it?
They aren’t here, are they?
It’s hot today, isn’t it?
They aren’t here, are they?
مع فعل “to be”، نكرر نفس الشكل في التذييل. مثال: “It’s hot today, isn’t it?” (الجو حار اليوم، أليس كذلك؟).

With Present Simple
With other verbs, we use “do/does” or “don’t/doesn’t” in the tag:
Example
She recycles, doesn’t she?
You don’t smoke, do you?
She recycles, doesn’t she?
You don’t smoke, do you?
