Learn to write a formal report on a school event — structure, useful phrases, and…
You have learned a lot of school vocabulary! Now let’s use it to write something new: a short report. We will also learn an important writing rule — capital letters.
Capital Letters — When to Use Them
In English, we use a capital (big) letter in four situations:
نستخدم الحرف الكبير في 4 حالات: بداية كل جملة، أسماء الأشخاص، أسماء الأماكن، وكلمة “I” (أنا) دائما تكتب كبيرة.
What Is a Report?
A report is a short piece of writing that gives facts about something — like your school. A simple report has three parts:
Keep your sentences short and clear. A report gives facts — it doesn’t need long, complicated sentences!
التقرير نص قصير يعطي معلومات حقيقية عن شيء ما، مثل مدرستك. له 3 أجزاء: عنوان، فقرات قصيرة بمعلومات، وجملة ختامية قصيرة.
A Model Report
Read this example report about a school. Notice the capital letters!
My School.
My school is called Al Amal School. It is in Fez. We have 20 classrooms and a big library. I like my school.
Can you find all the capital letters? There are capitals for the title, for “Al Amal School,” for “Fez,” and for “I.”
لاحظ الحروف الكبيرة في هذا التقرير: في العنوان، وفي “Al Amal School”، وفي “Fez”، وفي كلمة “I”. حاول أن تجدها كلها!
Now Write Your Own Report!
Try writing a short report about your own school. Use the structure and vocabulary from this unit — places, subjects, and objects!
حاول كتابة تقرير قصير عن مدرستك. استخدم بنية التقرير ومفردات هذه الوحدة: الأماكن، المواد الدراسية، والأدوات المدرسية.
