Learn how to write a simple report and use capital letters correctly in English! A…
Welcome to Unit 3! In this unit, we will talk about shopping. Let’s start by learning how to ask about prices and give your opinion about things.
Asking the Price
To ask how much something costs, we use “How much”:
How much is it? It’s 50 dirhams.
How much are they? They’re 100 dirhams.
لشيء واحد نستخدم “is” (How much is it?)، ولأكثر من شيء نستخدم “are” (How much are they?).
Asking for an Opinion
To ask what someone thinks about something, we can say:
What do you think of this shirt?
Do you like this bag?
لنسأل شخصا عن رأيه في شيء ما، نقول: “What do you think of this shirt?” أو “Do you like this bag?” .
Giving Your Opinion
Here are useful words to describe things when shopping:
“Expensive” means it costs a lot of money. “Cheap” means it costs a little money. Don’t mix them up!
A Full Dialogue
Let’s put it all together in a real shopping conversation:
A: How much is this T-shirt?
B: It’s 80 dirhams.
A: That’s expensive!
B: What about this one? It’s cheap, only 40 dirhams.
(How much is this T-shirt?) (That’s expensive!).
