Unit 2 of the 1st Bac syllabus covers Education — a topic students can speak to from their own experience, paired with two grammar structures for talking about the past: the past continuous and “used to.” Below are six free, ready-to-teach lesson plans covering the full unit.

How to Use These in Class
Contrast “used to” with the past continuous directly
Since both describe the past but serve different purposes — “used to” for habits, past continuous for actions in progress — a few side-by-side examples early on prevents students from mixing them up later in the unit.
Use advice-giving to prepare for the essay
If the essay topic touches on improving education or study habits, the Functions lesson on advice gives students language they can carry directly into their argument.
Let the reading inform the essay’s examples
Encourage students to reference an idea or fact from the Women Education reading in their essay — it’s a low-effort way to add substance to their writing rather than relying on generic statements.
