How to Use These in Class
Space out the three grammar lessons rather than teaching them back to back
Unlike grammar points that build directly on each other, prepositions, too/enough, and will/going to are distinct areas that don’t need to be taught in sequence — spacing them across the unit, with a quick review of the previous one each time, helps all three actually stick.
Use feelings and emotions to make the email more personal
Since the Functions lesson covers expressing feelings, encourage students to include genuine emotional language in their email — it turns a mechanical writing exercise into something closer to real communication.
Tie future forms to real entertainment plans
When practicing “will” and “going to,” have students talk about real weekend or holiday entertainment plans — it’s an easy way to make the grammar concrete rather than abstract.
Write one sentence with “too” and one with “enough” about the same situation side by side (“The film was too long” vs. “The film wasn’t long enough”) — direct contrast makes the difference in meaning click faster than separate rule explanations.
